Resolutions for the New Year
The New Year has arrived, but the world still seems to be dealing with the same, old problems. Luckily, our 2022 catalog is filled with enterprising characters who are ready to face these long-lasting issues with fresh new solutions.
Amalia, the main character from Aude Picault’s new graphic novel, is highly unsatisfied with her stressful life, stuck in a world where everything is about profit and productivity. Her burnout will prompt her to slow down and appreciate the little things.
In the new series U4, four teenagers live in a dystopian world where the population has been decimated by—surprise, surprise—a deadly virus. They will have to go back in time and attempt to prevent the catastrophe.
The (Nearly) Zero-Waste Family’s mission to adopt a fully sustainable lifestyle is going great, until their plan is boycotted by two evil creatures: their selfish cats. But when we are talking about our planet’s future, no compromises can be made!
The MFR team hopes that, just like our heroes, you will fulfill all your New Year’s resolutions, and wishes you an excellent 2022!

Genres:
Historical Fiction
Harlem, NYC, at the height of the Great Depression. Stephanie St. Clair, aka “Queenie,” rules the Harlem underworld thanks to her clandestine gambling enterprise. Until the day when mafioso Dutch Schultz, otherwise known as “Dutchman” decides to stick his nose in. Dutchman, who already controls the production and distribution of illegal alcohol, wants to prepare for the end of the prohibition by consolidating his lucrative business. The gangster has one big advantage: the police turns a blind eye to his crimes because he’s white. But Queenie, who Dutchman is targeting with his full artillery of intimidation tactics, is black. Queenie wants to raise public awareness of the numerous injustices inflicted upon the black population of this country, especially in Harlem, an issue utterly neglected by the powers that be. But Queenie is an immigrant and doesn’t have a great level of written English, so she hires a white journalist who writes for The Herald to edit her articles. Robert Bishop is convinced that Queenie’s story could give him the big break he’s been waiting for, but she refuses to let him write about her: that’s the deal. But it’s a deal that the journalist will inevitably break.
