So young, so rebellious

By MFR

In dark times, it’s the young people who often question the status quo and stand up for their rights. This month, we want to introduce you to a group of young, intrepid characters who dare to shake up the world as they know it.

You may already know Mary, the main character of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Mary’s classic story has now been adapted into a graphic novel by Maud Begon. There’s also Magali, the 11-year-old heroine of the autobiographical story Nowhere Girl, whose phobia of school is a match only to her love of the Beatles. Then there’s Lili Crochette, a little girl who defies her father and becomes a pirate in a terribly fun children’s series of the same name. But the most famous dissident kids of the comics world are the Children of the Resistance, who keep coming back to fight the unspeakable evils of Nazi Germany.
