Russia. The near future. Daia, an M.A.D. captain, and his psybot sidekick have been suspended after the failure of their last mission—a sorry tale of rebellion and destruction in a village community. To add to his misery, Daia now learns that two other M.A.D. agents, a friend of his and her psybot, have been murdered.

But, as his senior officers know to their cost, Daia is a stubborn sort, and as determined as a Siberian wolverine tracking a moose.

Nothing will stop him from finding out who is responsible.
