Gérard Poaillat, a photographer known for his work on the Algerian War, has just passed away. The mayor of Maquerol, his hometown, leaps at the chance to begin construction on a memorial dedicated to his work. To pull this off, he calls on historian Stéphanie Delbeille-Violette and internationally renowned visual artist Jean- Claude Wollaert. Together, the three of them will create more than an exhibit. They’ll attempt the impossible: reconciling France and Algeria.
